BEC (Bacon, Egg and Cheese)
BEC (Bacon, Egg and Cheese)
There are few foods as closely associated with New York or Long Island as the Bacon Egg and Cheese. And there are few foods so satisfying— each ingredient participates in an alchemy only possible with all the other ingredients. The kaiser roll’s existence is justified by its role in the BEC alone.
We Long Island natives seem to easily spy Long Island shaped objects everywhere— clouds, torn paper towels, puddles— and I brought such a “vision” to the shape of the eggs, to honor the site of my first BECSPK (the full name with seasonings included) on one of those magical childhood days when the prospects for a happy future seemed to expand with a new flavor profile exploding on the tongue.
Each giclee print is one of an edition of 500, printed on archival Hahnemuhle paper, signed and numbered by the artist.
