Commission a custom portrait of a beloved home
Do you have a beloved family home you would like memorialized as an artwork? I can create a house portrait that captures the character and atmosphere of a place that is special to you or loved ones.
All that is required is a photo of reasonable definition, new or old.
I can assist with photography for local projects if you don’t have a preferred photo.

Photo
A photo is required for all house portrait projects. You can provide a new or old photo by email, or if you are local I can arrange to do a photo shoot.
A few basic steps if you are taking a new photo:
Sunshine is not crucial, but it can have a pleasing effect on the front or roof of the house.
Cars or other items not wanted in the artwork should not be in the photo.
Take several photos from different distances and angles. For example, take a photo that includes a side of the house, not just straight on.
If your photo contains elements you do not want in the portrait, I may be able to remove them at additional cost (if it requires extensive revision).
On the other hand, if you would like elements added to the portrait that are not in the photo, I can likely do that from a separate image you provide.
Feel free to send multiple photos at once that I can work with.

Turnaround times can vary depending on season (holiday times are longer). A typical project takes from 4-6 weeks depending on the number of projects currently pending.

If prints of a house portrait are desired, I can produce a high-quality, signed and dated limited edition. Various sizes are available, as are other products such as greeting cards. Inquire for pricing.

The most common sizes are 9x12, 12x16, and 16x20.
Because my work emphasizes detail, I do not recommend a work smaller than 7x9.
