For a busy restaurant serving Queensboro Plaza with tight spaces and little downtime, I created an image of the Queensborough Bridge, Roosevelt Island, and Manhattan on canvas in my studio. It was mounted in a prominent spot, and has become a beloved and much commented-upon feature of the restaurant among its clientele. Here I used pencil and acrylic washes to produce a watercolor-like effect, which I thought would be an unusual take on the cityscape theme, especially on a large scale.
